What a 7-year-old Boy Hates Most

It all started when we got to the fair early.  Everyone else was in school so the lines were short.  Most of the rides  even ran half full.

It worked our perfectly because Tristan and Ethan could ride together…

.

And since Sawyer’s friend couldn’t come that day, Sawyer could ride in a car by himself.  It suited him perfectly as he was just in it for the fun.

Until…

the park got crowded and he no longer had the car to himself.

.

Uhhh…this is inconceivable.

.

Really?  Really, really?!

.

His mind is quickly flipping through his options, but what choice does he have?  The ride must go on, people are waiting…

.

His fate is sealed.

.

I don’t think it was her favorite arrangement either.  Poor, sweet little girl.

Her mom was next to me at the gate and we were both laughing our heads off.

.

He may be resigned.

.

But he’s not going to enjoy it.

.

He’ll stay as far on his side as possible .

.

It’s over now.

.

But can something like this truly ever be over?

.

She left.

.

But the pain lingered.

Thus ended our visit to the fair.  The greatest triumphs and the greatest humiliations.

.

He’s scarred for life.
